Big Dreams
If our minds could begin to fathom the things God wants to accomplish through us, there would be no end to our excitment.
Do you find yourself often content with little when God would give you much? I find myself in that trap from time to time. Then, I’m reminded the God wants me to believe for the big thing!
God has dreams and goals he knows could be accomplished for his glory through yours and my life.
Believe God for the big thing! Have Big Dreams! Who said the great things of God have all been accomplished?
Never Stop Dreaming
One of my favorite quotes comes from Louis L’Amour and is found in his book, “High Lonesome”.
“Dave Spanyer, frontiersman and outlaw knew what it was to dream. He had done some dreaming himself. Why did the young think that dreams were only for them? The old dream also, with less hope, less anticipation, yet they dream.”
Perhaps it became a favorite quote as I turned 60 this year or perhaps it was what I saw lived out in the life of one of my hero’s, Don Cartmell. Don taught me not just about broadcasting, leadership and management, but about integrity, honesty, humility, selflessness, and character. But most of all Don taught me to DREAM. Don was an encourager. The challenges of work, life, and health only strengthened Don and regardless of those challenges he always remained the same. The difference between Don and the old outlaw? Don never lost hope for his hope was in Christ. The sage warrior never stopped dreaming!
Oswald Chambers said, “The people who influence us the most are not those who detain us with their continual talk, but those who live their life like the stars in the sky and the lilies of the field, simply and genuinely. Those are the lives that mold us and shape us.”
No matter your age, no matter the economic or political winds that blow, don’t stop dreaming, don’t lose hope, DO live a life anticipation.
